Join Linda Loomis as she interviews Julia Scott, who grew up in Clay, New York. Julia reminisces about her adventures as an Army nurse in WWII. Her training began at Pine Camp (now Fort Drum) and she was moved several times before being transferred to Hawaii. During the latter stages of the war Julia was stationed on Saipan and recalls Japanese bombing runs as well as our B-29s leaving from Tinian to bomb Japan. Julia is the commander of the Liverpool-Clay VFW Post and is one of the first women in the state to hold that rank.
Linda Loomis is the co-editor of the Review, Liverpool's community newspaper, and teaches English at Onondaga Community College.
