John & Caroline Hetnar
Join Linda Loomis as she interviews lifelong residents of Liverpool, Caroline and John Hetnar. Their father, Martin, was a willow weaver who was famous for making elaborate willow furniture, planters, birdcages and other items. He made many pieces to order. Examples of his weaving skills were displayed and sold on the front porch of their Oswego Street home until the mid 1970s. Caroline and John talk about their family and the willow industry of Liverpool as well as reminiscing about John's taxi service, their school days and other memories of growing up in Liverpool.
Linda Loomis is the editor of the Review, Liverpool's community newspaper, and teaches English at Onondaga Community College.
