Join Linda Loomis as she interviews Claire Deloria who was New York State Teacher of the Year in 1984. Claire taught Social Studies at Liverpool High School and was famous for taking her classes into the Morgan Road Cemetery to study the tombstones. Claire still enjoys taking people through cemeteries and, in this tape, she discusses what can be learned from cemeteries, the importance of good documentation and where to begin a search for information.
Since her retirement, Claire has published her walking tour of the Liverpool Cemetery and presently enjoys working with pre-service teachers at Le Moyne College.
Linda Loomis is an English Professor at the State University of New York at Oswego.
